Terms & Privacy

Terms of Service

1. Welcome to the Jellyfish Hotel

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Jellyfish Hotel website, games, and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Accounts

You need an account to access and play games. You must provide accurate information, keep your password confidential, and be responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to create an account for yourself. A parent or legal guardian may create an account and enable Kids Mode (see Section 5) for a child under that age, and is responsible for supervising that child's use of the Service.

Visitor passes. You can also check in as a visitor without an email or password. A visitor pass works only in the browser it was created in and cannot be signed back into later; visitor accounts and any progress on them are automatically deleted about a month after check-in. Create a full account to keep your guest name and progress.

3. Free accounts and advertising

Games are free to play for registered guests. Free accounts may be shown advertisements before, during, or after gameplay. We may use third-party advertising partners to serve those ads. Accounts with Kids Mode enabled are never shown advertisements — the ad break is replaced by educational content (see Section 5).

4. Premium membership

An optional paid Premium membership removes advertising and stores your game saves on our servers so you can continue on any device. Premium benefits apply only while your membership is active. If your membership ends, cloud saves may become unavailable, though we will retain them for a reasonable period in case you re-subscribe.

5. Kids Mode (children's accounts)

Kids Mode is an optional, parent-controlled setting. When a parent or guardian enables it on an account: advertising is turned off entirely; the usual ad break during gameplay is replaced by short, interactive educational exercises (starting with maths, with more subjects to follow); and the parent gains a set of per-child controls, protected by a parent PIN.

One account can hold up to four child profiles (for siblings), each with its own settings and learning progress. A child's profile name is the account's hotel-assigned guest name plus a number — children never choose or enter a name of their own. For each child, the parent can set the age and subject, a daily play-time limit after which games pause until the next day, whether the child may play online matches against other guests (where only hotel-assigned nicknames are visible to the other player), and per-game rules: games hidden from that child entirely, games that play without learning breaks, and games whose play time doesn't count toward the daily limit.

By enabling Kids Mode, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the children using the account and that you consent, on their behalf, to our collection and use of the limited information needed to run it — namely each child's subject and age level, their answers and progress through the learning exercises, and the amount of time they play each day. We use this information only to choose suitable exercises, to show progress to you, and to enforce the daily limit. We do not use it to serve advertising and we do not build advertising profiles of children. You can turn Kids Mode off, change its settings, remove a child's profile, or delete the account at any time from your account page. See the Privacy Policy below for more detail.

6. Your conduct

  • Don't attempt to access games or data you are not authorized to access.
  • Don't interfere with, disrupt, or reverse engineer the Service.
  • Don't use cheats, bots, or exploits to manipulate scores or saves.
  • Don't share your account or resell access to the Service.

7. Content and intellectual property

The games, artwork, logo, and other content on the Service belong to Jellyfish Hotel or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to play the games through the Service for your own entertainment. You may not copy, redistribute, or host the games elsewhere.

8. Saves and data

Game saves stored locally in your browser are your responsibility. Cloud saves for Premium guests are provided on a best-effort basis; we recommend not relying on them as your only copy of anything important. We may delete saves for games that are removed from the Service.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your licence to use the Service ends.

10. Network and data usage

Playing games, watching preview clips, and loading animations downloads data to your device. On a mobile or cellular connection (when you are not on Wi-Fi), this counts against your data plan and your carrier may charge you for it. Games and clips may be re-downloaded when they are updated. If your data plan is limited, we recommend using the Service over Wi-Fi.

11. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jellyfish Hotel is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify guests by email or a notice on the Service. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Jellyfish Hotel collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It forms part of, and should be read alongside, the Terms of Service above.

In short: the only always-on cookie is the strictly-necessary one that keeps you signed in. Free accounts are also shown ads; where you consent, our advertising partner (Google) may set advertising cookies to serve and measure them. Premium members see no ads. Accounts with Kids Mode on are never shown ads and are never used for advertising — the ad break becomes an educational activity instead. We don't sell your personal information. Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are not shown ads at all until we add a certified consent tool (CMP).

1. Information we collect

  • Account details — the email address you provide, your hotel-assigned display name, the date you accepted these Terms, and your timezone (detected from your browser at sign-up and changeable on your account page) so dates, times, and the Kids Mode daily limit run on your clock. We also use timezones to estimate, in aggregate, which world regions our traffic comes from so we can place servers near our guests — never to locate you individually. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text.
  • Google sign-in— if you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account's email, name, and a unique identifier. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Game saves— for Premium members, the progress a game chooses to save is stored on our servers, tied to your account. Free guests' saves stay in their own browser and are not sent to us.
  • Usage data— gameplay statistics we record on our own servers: when each game is played, when a game's preview clip is viewed, and — while you have a game open — a periodic "still playing" signal from your account so we can see how many guests are on the game floor at once. Those presence records are deleted within a day; play and view counts are kept only as per-game tallies and are reported in aggregate, not as a profile of you. We also keep standard server logs (e.g. IP address and browser type) used to operate and secure the Service.
  • Leaderboard scores— when a game posts your score, we store it with your hotel-assigned nickname and show it to other guests on that game's leaderboard. Only the nickname and score are visible — never your email or other details.
  • Kids Mode learning data— for accounts a parent has placed in Kids Mode, and separately for each child profile on the account: the subject and age level chosen, the child's answers and progress through the learning exercises, and daily play time (kept as two figures — time that counts toward the daily limit, and time on games the parent marked limit-free). This is used only to pick suitable exercises, show progress to the parent, and enforce the daily limit — never for advertising. See "Children and Kids Mode" below.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to create and manage your account, to provide the games and features (including cloud saves and Premium benefits), to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse, and to communicate with you about your account or important changes.

3. Cookies & consent

Strictly-necessary cookies (always on):a secure sign-in cookie keeps you logged in, a short-lived cookie is used during the sign-in process, and a small cookie remembers your advertising choice. These don't require consent because the Service can't work without them. Game saves for free guests stay in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie.

Advertising cookies (with your consent):free accounts are shown ads between rounds, served by Google. When you consent, Google and its partners may read and set cookies or similar identifiers to serve, cap, and measure those ads. You can decline, in which case we don't enable advertising cookies for you.

EEA, UK & Switzerland: in regions that require a certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) before ads may be served, we currently do not serve ads or set advertising cookies at all. Visitors there see a notice to that effect and can keep playing ad-free until a certified consent tool is in place.

4. Advertising

Free accounts may be shown ads between rounds. We use Google AdSense (H5 Games Ads) as our advertising partner. Where you have consented, Google acts as an independent controller of the advertising data it processes and may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads; you can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We don't share your account details (such as your email) with advertisers, and Premium members see no ads.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service — our hosting provider, and, where you enable them, sign-in (Google) and advertising (Google AdSense) partners — and where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the Service.

6. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information and cloud saves within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited data to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

Some data ages out automatically while your account stays active: "still playing" presence records are deleted within a day; per-play records are kept for about 35 days (after which only per-game totals remain); Kids Mode question-by-question detail is kept for about 90 days and daily play-time tallies for about 180 days (the skills summary a parent sees is kept until the profile or account is deleted). Visitor-pass accounts, which cannot be signed back into, are deleted entirely about a month after check-in.

7. Your rights and choices

You can review and update your account details at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or object to the processing of your personal information. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.

8. Children and Kids Mode

Except through Kids Mode, the Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

When a parent or guardian enables Kids Mode for a child (see Section 5 of the Terms), we knowingly collect and process a limited set of information about that child, with the parent's consent and solely to run the feature: the subject and age level the parent selects, the child's answers and progress through the learning exercises, and the amount of time played each day (to enforce the daily limit). We do not ask children for their name, email, or other contact details; the account's display name is a nickname assigned by the hotel. We do not show advertising to children, do not set advertising cookies for them, and do not use their information to build advertising or marketing profiles. We do not sell or share children's information with third parties except the service providers who host the Service on our behalf.

As the parent or guardian, you can review your child's progress, change or turn off Kids Mode, and delete the account and its associated learning data at any time from the account page, or by contacting us using the details below.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify guests by email or a notice on the Service. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
